Goshu 語種 ("we," "our," or "us") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our mobile application.

Information We Collect

You Provide

• Dictionary search queries
• SRS flashcard progress and ratings
• Words saved for review
• Language preferences (native language, target languages)

Automatically Collected

• Device model and OS version (Firebase Crashlytics)
• App usage analytics (Firebase Analytics)
• Crash stack traces (Firebase Crashlytics)

Camera & OCR

Camera images are processed entirely on-device using ML Kit. No image data is ever sent to external servers.

AI Tutor (Gemma 4)

The on-device AI tutor runs entirely locally via LiteRT-LM. No queries, conversations, or personal data leave your device.

Google Drive Sync

If you enable Google Drive Sync, your app data (SRS progress, bookmarks, settings, search history) is backed up to your personal Google Drive account. This data is private to you — we cannot access it.

In-App Purchases

We use Google Play Billing to process purchases (subscriptions, lifetime access, credits). We do not store payment card details. Purchase history is stored by Google and linked to your Play account.

Advertisements

We show rewarded ads to grant free credits. Ads are served by Google AdMob. We do not share your personal data with ad networks beyond what is required for ad serving (device ID, approximate location).

Third-Party Services

• Firebase Crashlytics & Analytics (Google) — crash reporting and usage analytics
• Google Play Billing — in-app purchases and subscriptions
• Google AdMob — rewarded advertisements
• Google Drive API — optional cloud sync (user data only)

Data Storage

All app data (dictionary, SRS, settings) is stored locally on your device in a Room SQLite database. No personal data is stored on external servers except:

• Optional Google Drive backup (your own Drive account)
• Crash logs and analytics (Firebase)
• Purchase receipts (Google Play)

Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or share your personal information with third parties except as required by law or as described above (Drive sync, Play Billing, AdMob).
